Most aspiring actors move to LA not from LA, but Andrew did just that. Born in LA, his mum is from Essex and his family moved back to England when he was three. Andrew grew up in Surrey and began acting as a teen in youth theatre productions. He went to public school before graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama in 2004.
Andrew first stretched his acting muscles with roles on TV, winning the Best Actor BAFTA for his performance in the 2007 drama, Boy A. After starring alongside other Brit Pack actors Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan in Never Let Me Go in 2010, Andrew was officially named one of the year’s actors to watch. He went on to star in that facebook film The Social Network and earned himself a Golden Globe nomination for his performance.
In late 2010 it was announced that Andrew is Spider-Man. He’ll take over from Tobey Maguire in the new look Spider-Man movie, meaning he’s now an official Hollywood leading man. The new blockbuster is due for a 2012 release and Andrew’s currently rumoured to be dating his hot, hot, co-star Emma Stone.
